Faysal Shayesteh, Afghanistan national football team’s captain, message:

October 11, 2017
Greetings to the great nation of Afghanistan.
I want to write on the game against Jordon. Afghanistan national football team kicked off its training sessions since last week in Dushanbe city of Tajikistan to prepare fully for the game. We have been preparing with a high moral and motive from the very beginning. Most of the people might have been considering the national team loser of the game, however, the team’s technical cadre and its players showed that everything is possible in football, and we progressed up to victory and fought like real men for Afghanistan. Today we defeated the Jordon who had made it up to play off to ascend to World Cup. We were more of a team today, and contrary to the viewpoint of Jordon’s coach who had said that they would defeat Afghanistan for sure, but we stopped them. I would like to thank the AFF, Afghanistan national football team’s fans, and especially our compatriots in Tajikistan for all their supports. Your prayers helped us get more energy to showcase in practice that where there is a wish, there is a way. I hope we will have better trends in the next games and get satisfying results. Today we showed that we are Afghan and we fight for our country.
Long live Afghanistan.
